Staff are genuinely helpful and happy..this was such an educational visit to remember for years and the fact you got to walk on the replica ships deck was a bonus. Easy access and parking and leave an hour and half to absorb the information

The staff were so friendly. There was a lot to do for the kids and a lovely gift shop. The displays are beautiful. The ship was very interesting with listening devices to guide your own tour. Definitely worth the visit.

The museum is terrific! My son completed a STEM workshop with Scott in the 1920’s classroom and had the best time, waking away with a solar powered car. Such a wonderful activity and great, engaged staff helping.

Disappointed and glad it was free otherwise would be peeved. Bush tucker garden has numbers but no description...Exihibits could do with more interaction and more interesting topics. Amity replica ship is ok

Must-visit place when visiting Albany in WA. It's a free museum and the receptionist was very kind, friendly and informative.

An unmissable part of a visit to Albany. This is a beautifully curated and arranged museum, and I'm so glad I extended my stay past the weekend music festival and spent a couple of hours there today. The main exhibition space is stunning. They've somehow distilled multiple strands of local history: First Nations, colonial, natural history, war time, and more recent themes into a spacious, flowing set of displays with multi-media.There are other exhibition spaces, but the cherry on top for me is the replica Brig Amity vessel (on board for max $5 - all other areas are free access). The sailing vessel experience is astounding. Maybe I'm hypersensitive because I've just finished two books about maritime events in the region in the 1600s and 1800s, but to climb on board and go down below decks with an amazingly evocative sound commentary (via audio guide - included in price) was just brilliant.A wonderful place. I'll be back to soak up more.

Fantastic place for the whole family, with new travelling exhibitions always on for something new, plus the very well displayed permanent exhibitions on Albany's history, flora and fauna, and maritime displays. The Discovery Centre for the children is always a joy and very well engineered to engage their senses, pique their interest in science and evoke learning and conversation.
